Volcanic Island (Fishing Master): Unlock Cost, Rods and Race

Last checked: October 3, 2026. Everything below is Reported from creator videos published September 25 to 30. Quest wording in quotation marks is read from the game’s own text in that footage. The in-game Index and Fast Travel panel spell it Volcanic Island; some English guides say Volcano Island.

How do you unlock Volcanic Island?

Talk to the unlock NPC next to the teleport portal where you land. The quest text, shown in Bùm Roblox’s video, reads: “Bring 1 Frozen Crown Dragonfish, 1 Frosttusk Seal, and 1 Frostmaw Monster, all caught at Snow Island (Island 4). Any weight will count. Pay the NPC 4,000,000 Coins to unlock access.”

Keep one of each before you sell your Snow Island catch.

You must have unlocked the four islands before it.

Which NPCs are on the island?

Three matter (Reported by two or more creators each):

1. The Blind Angler, in a boat at the landing. He gives the Crimson Bead Rod for 100 fish caught with the Legacy Rod, the 3,000,000 Coin rod from Snow Island, plus 3,000,000 Coins.
2. Giang Lao, an old man to the right inside the volcano area. His offer reads: “I can craft the Bamboo Rod. Fish at Jungle Island (Island 2) for 20 Bamboo Fragments and bring 3,600,000 Coins.” The fragments drop while fishing on Jungle Island, so this quest sends you back to island two. One creator says you need the Crimson Bead Rod first.
3. The Azure Dragon Guardian, at the very top of the volcano. He gives the Azure Dragon race for 100 fish finished with One Hook Supreme and three Legendary fish from this island.

Only one quest can be active at a time, so you will take these in turn.

The Bamboo Rod has roughly double the attack of the Crimson Bead Rod.

What are the fish like here?

Tougher, and worth more. Thay Tam Gaming hooked a Legendary with 9,000,000 health here; at 1,600 kg it sold for 554,000 Coins. A rarer fish with 18,000,000 health sold for about 2,000,000. Those are single catches, not averages.

Keep the heavy ones. The gate to Fossil Island names three fish from this island: an Ancient Trihorn Fish of at least 1,200 kg, a Stormblade Shark of at least 2,000 kg and a Lavascale Dragonfish of at least 2,500 kg, plus 15,000,000 Coins.

What does trading allow?

From this island on you can trade rod skins, skills and auras with other players. Fish cannot be traded (Reported, Thay Tam Gaming).

What we do not know yet

• The rarity of the three Snow Island fish and of the three fish the Fossil gate names.
• Whether the Bamboo Rod really requires the Crimson Bead Rod first; one source says so and another describes them as two separate routes.
• Full fish list for the island.

Where to go next

Start with the Crimson Bead Rod quest, since it only needs gear you already own. When you have the three heavy fish and 15,000,000 Coins, the islands table shows what Fossil Island asks for. Weather on the horizon? Both boss spawn points here are at docks.
