Fishing Master Roblox Beginner Guide: First Session, Step by Step

What should you do in your first five minutes?

Claim the daily reward. Day one gives 10,000 Coins. Three separate creators show it.
Redeem the codes. Settings button on the left, code box at the top. The current list gives five skills, five auras and a rod skin.
Follow the tutorial to the Skill Master and roll your first skill. The tutorial roll is free.
Attach the skill to your rod in the equipment menu.
Join the creator group if you want the free rod skin the description promises.

How does catching a fish work?

This is the part other fishing games do not prepare you for.

Cast by holding the mouse button. A bar moves up and down. Release in the green zone for a perfect cast. Tapping does nothing.
Hit the first-strike meter. A small meter with a fast cursor appears when the fish bites. Clicking with the cursor near the top makes the first hit much stronger.
Click to deal damage, and answer the W, A, D prompts. A fatigue meter fills under the health bar; if it fills, the fish escapes.
Finish with a skill. Clicking only takes the fish down to a white line on its health bar. Past that line, only a skill can finish it.

That last rule decides your timing. Bùm Roblox’s advice is to hold your skill until the fish is near the white line. If you fire it at the start, you reach the line with the skill on cooldown and stand there waiting. Takami_Cat makes exactly that mistake on camera and loses half a minute.

Sportskeeda describes the fight more simply, as bringing the health bar to zero. The creators’ version is the more detailed one, and it matches what they do on screen.

What should you buy first?

Thay Tam Gaming, who filmed a full run from island one to six, buys every rod in order instead of saving for the best one. His reasoning: a weak rod farms slowly, so skipping steps costs more time than it saves. His opening looks like this (one creator’s route, prices as he states them):

Earn 2,000 Coins and add the 10,000 from the daily reward. Buy the 12,000 Coin rod on Starter Island.
Move your skill onto the new rod and roll for auras; look for one with a Coin bonus.
Farm to 40,000 Coins and sail to Jungle Island.
On Jungle Island buy the 35,000 rod, then the 90,000 rod, and farm to 180,000 for Desert Island.

He runs two skills and alternates them so one is always ready.

How much does a first session earn?

WeizGaming recorded his first day from a new account (one creator, video from September 26):

His first fish sold for 483 Coins. Common fish on Starter Island had about 26,000 to 40,000 health.
His first Legendary on Starter Island sold for about 14,600 Coins.
On Jungle Island he sold 27 fish for 161,000 Coins, enough with what he had for the 90,000 rod and the 180,000 Desert Island fee.
Each roll at the Skill Master cost more than the one before. He expected 25,000 Coins and was charged 30,000.

He reached Desert Island in one sitting. There a boss took his bait and beat him: see the boss page for its two health bars.

What do you need to know before island three?

A pity counter runs on every island. After 50 manual catches you are guaranteed a Legendary fish or better. Auto fishing does not count toward it.
Lock your Legendary fish from Desert Island on. Snow Island costs 900,000 Coins and three of them. Selling them is the classic way to get stuck. The full list is in the islands table.
You can hold one quest at a time. Accepting a race quest blocks the island unlock until you finish or cancel it.
Moving a skill between rods is contested. The official description says to detach the skill book from the old rod first. Two English guides say a removed book is lost for good, while Vietnamese creators are shown moving skills freely. Read the in-game warning before you confirm.

Are the game passes needed?

No source says they are required. For reference, as shown by Bùm Roblox on September 25: Auto Click is 59 Robux, Auto Fishing is 199 Robux, VIP adds 10% luck and 10% fish value with a skin and a title, and a fourth pass enables island teleports. Robux prices can differ by region. Auto Fishing is slower than manual play and does not advance the pity counter.

What we do not know yet

When the extra skill slots open. Two English guides say level three. The Equipments panel on two late-game rods says “Unlock at Lv. 8”, “Lv. 16” and “Lv. 20”, counted in the rod’s own level. Early rods may differ.
Which shop sells which rod, and the stats of the early ones. The names are known from creators’ Equipments panels: Wooden Rod, Stone Rod, Iron Rod, Golden Rod, Steel Rod, Diamond Steel Rod and Legacy Rod. The Legacy Rod is the 3,000,000 Coin rod on Snow Island.
How much changed in the October 2 update.
